How Do You Like Your Steak?

by Mark Erb January 25, 2017

How do you like your steak? I love nothing better for dinner than tossing a marinated steak on the BBQ in the summertime. But what about this time of year? Today, I tried something different - steak done in the oven - and it turned out delicious. A marinating steak (ie. sirloin or round) works well for this (I used a sirloin). Rub your steak with your favorite steak spice, slice some fresh onions and garlic on top, and put in a baking dish with some water in the bottom. I have a stoneware baking dish that I love do use for meats, but if you don't have one, another should work fine too. I had my steak in the oven for approximately an hour at 300 degrees, and then an hour at 200 degrees - long and low is the key here. Drizzle your favorite steak/BBQ sauce on top for the last 15 minutes of cooking. Pair it with your favorite side dish (we had mushrooms & onions), and dinner's all set to go. It was so soft we could cut it with just our table knives - and tasted so good. No leftovers today. Try it sometime - buy grass fed steaks online.
