we have added Pasture Raised Pekin Duck to our list of products. Many of you may not have noticed as it has very quietly waltzed onto the website... Others of you have definitely noticed and have been taking advantage of all the wonderful flavor and benefits pasture raised duck can bring into your life! I want to take this time and dedicate this space to telling you more about our ducks.

Wilderness Ranch Pasture Raised Ducks...

are GMO free just like the chickens. Meaning they are raised outside once then are old enough to stay warm with out the aid of a heat lamp. Once they reach this age they are free to run about as they please. A duck if you haven't noticed at the park is quite a busy bird, they are always foraging in the shallow waters, looking for grubs, and any tasty bits of grass. Ducks have a webbed feed which allows them to paddle through water very efficiently, thus makes them suited very well for land and water. At Wilderness Ranch we feel our animals should be raised as close to their natural environment as possible which is why we take every measure possible, and will not compromise on how we raise our animals.

Over time duck has become a favorite among Americans. In fact, consumption increased by more than 35% between 1995 and 2005, which speaks volumes about its popularity. Statistics aside, duck is a great source of selenium and zinc, which helps with cellular metabolism. So it’s no wonder that duck has wowed the market and more and more people are enjoying it.
